I believe the GT trim comes to $27,120 with AWD

$24,990 + $1250 + $880

All-New 2016 Mazda CX-3 Subcompact Crossover MSRP[1] to start from $19,960 - Jul 16, 2015
If that is right, it makes my decision much more difficult. :)

Will the GT trim (or any of them be available in manual? If so, then there would be a bigger price difference. If the GT only comes in Automatic, then yeah only 1250. But like the 3, if the GT comes in manual it's somewhere around $1500 cheaper than the auto, and you have to have auto to get AWD. IOW, AWD is a premium over Auto/FWD. Auto/FWD is a premium over Man/FWD.

Hopefully you are right though, and that will be the price. That would put it at only ~$500 over a similarly equipped, but 2wd Mazda3. If the interior of the cx3 is smaller, but not really noticeably so w/o getting a tape measure, thats really really tempting over a 3, and a shoe in if they don't have any good stock left of 2015 3s by the time the CX3 comes out.

I just hope the CX3 isn't a letdown like the HRV was for me, but I don't expect it to be.

.

How did you get the 1500 figure? On the Mazda web site they list a 1000 and 1250 cash back rebates without bothering to explain under what circumstances they each apply. Also 0% financing for a limited term. Again no details or if can be applied with either of the rebates.
The $1000 rebate applies to the 3 sedan in trims iSV, iGT, sTR, and sGT. $1500 on sedans on i Sport and i Touring trims, but it requires Mazda Dealer Standard Financing Rate, $1250 otherwise. If you take the 0% for 36 or the 0.9% for 60 you only get a $200 rebate for Sport and i Touring only). Confusing, I know.

Thanks much for that detailed clarification. Guess Mazda wants us to talk to the dealer to get that info and I did not want to step in that far. Sorta glad you cannot get the larger rebates and the 0% financing together. I was going to wait on the cx anyway, so now its a little easier.
