I had issues with mine, too. The original one in my car worked fine with my iPhone 5S. No problems. Dealer replaced my armrest with an armrest from another car they had on their lot to correct the squeaking problems. The new armrest had a much more aggressive clip/detent in the phone pocket than the old one had and it broke part of the Otterbox case I had on my phone. It seems that the clips in these have some rather large variability from one car to the next. See what I did to fix it myself in the links below.

Mine too! They barely get up to 1/3 the height of the windshield (that's windscreen to those across the pond). The right half of the windshield is always smeared.
Ditto on the washer nozzles. That includes the one for the rear window. Perhaps especially for the rear one, even. Maybe I need to have my car checked for an enlarged prostate?

The backseats aren't that roomy for full sized adults, i sat in a mazda 3 hatchback (2015 model) and even that felt roomier?!
The CX-3 is smaller than the 3 in both length and width because it is based on the 2. I agree that the back seat is not very roomy. Oddly enough, maybe because of a more upright driving position, I gained 2 1/2"-3" of rear leg room over my Mazdaspeed 3 (and the newer 3). My four-year-old daughter, in her booster seat, is most grateful. :D

Gas tank is too small

No armrest in Canada. I had to buy one for $230

The armrest covers the cup holder's

The cup holders are too far back

The USB inputs are very slow at charging a phone

The seats are not powered despite the car being quite expensive for its class.

The windshield washer jets don't spray the windshield evenly. It shoots it like a dollar store mini water gun.

No auto dimming mirrors on GT with Tech package. I had to have one installed for $260

The trunk is TINY!

No rear leg room for passengers

No light inside the glove box

Sunroof buttons do not light up at night

The sunroof cover does not automatically close. You need to pull it closed.

The LED DRLs only turn on when you drive. It won't stay on when in park. You can never take a picture with the DRLs on unless you have a friend with you.

The multimedia system is not very intuitive.

The skip track buttons should be beside the volume buttons on the steering wheel. I keep hitting the info button...

The horn sounds more like "excuse me, would you be able to move out of the way please? If you can't then that's alright!"

The remote start system is ridiculous.. it will shut your car off everytime you open the car door.

The car is a bit underpowered on the freeway.

That covers it.

Wow, that's a long list...! Why did you buy the car if you do not like so many things....! It would of probably been quicker to write down what you liked....!

No car is perfect. If I had bought a Honda HRV, the list would have been twice as long!

Yeah I agree with almost everything listed, but I still love the car in other ways. it is still by far the best looking and driving CUV on the market. I never planned on buying a CUV until I saw the CX-3.

Not trying to start an argument but when allot of the comments are geared towards wanting more space I think what you actually wanted is a SUV not a CUV.

For a CUV the aim needs to be is versatility not so much outright size.

Yea the trunk is small but it has two compartments and you can fold the seats down. It easily fits all my shopping and I've moved apartments while I owned this car it was shocked how much it could fit with the seats folded down. Honestly saved a days worth of truck rental.

The fuel tank is small, but the range is good and you would have to sacrifice ground clearance or trunk size to make it larger.

The rear leg room isn't huge, but it's a small car, and there are larger cars on offer by Mazda.

I just think people need to start looking at the positives of the versatility of the CX3 or we might end up with the next model being some pimped up Van!

So not sure how many of you guys noticed this since it probably would only in heavy snow. But I noticed alot of snow and rocks building up inside the passenger door jams right by where it meets the rear wheel-well.

I noticed that when the passenger door is closed the plastic cladding slightly wraps into the wheel-well but doesn't create a completely seal and the tire will kick crap into this crack eventually pushing everything into the door jam which equates to a pile of whatever the wheel kicks up inside the door jam. I will try to get some picture the next time I drive through some decent snow and show you guys the amount of build its collecting.

I am wondering the long term repercussions as maybe this could cause rust or damage to the actual door.

I was thinking of somehow creating a seal but not sure. Any ideas?

I spotted it within days of getting mine but my RAV did the same so I was watching for it. Have a read,

Thank you! I've been saying this too, if you want space you're looking at the wrong car, go with the CX-5. I said before Mazda nailed what the CUV should be about, beautiful inside and out and fun to drive. Look at the CX-3's competitors, they are so ugly and boring that if the CX-3 didn't exist I would never even think of buying a CUV.

Size wise I knew it was small but that's why I wanted it. I had only driven 2 door sporty cars for the last 20 yrs and wasn't ready to take the big step of even a small SUV (CX5 looks very nice) I have folded the back seats down for extra cargo when needed & perfect fit. I love the interior & exterior as far as looks. The suede inlays in black & red in the leather, black rims, headlights, sunroof, etc.

I have to agree with most others it's the little things I wish it had, I'm not TOO spoiled rotten from my few luxury cars, I like the lower costs of gas, service, lease and still a fun ride for a fraction of the cost but even with the highest trim (GT) minus the i-active-something package it could use (US version):

Auto headlights, auto sensor wipers, storage console in center armrest, auto lights in glovebox/ visor/ trunk.

Yes the Nav is tricky , I haven't quite mastered it and the "safety features" of it. I like the voice command on phone, Nav is flaky. Finally played with the cruise control but not the Sport button yet.

I don't mind manual seats or some of the other things. I like the keyless entry & start button. I leased mine so I'll re-evaluate when the new models come out.

For those that wish we had power seats, keep in mind Mazda designed the CX3 with the idea of weight saving - our cars are extremely light for it's class.

I do believe mazda compromised in this area not to "cheap out", but rather a factor into making an agile, nimble CUV.

Roughly 10 lbs each would be a pretty good guess for the weight savings with manual seats. With weight savings, it isn't about any one item. It's about cutting as much weight as you can in every little area to achieve a cumulative weight reduction. With no MazdaSpeed version of the CX-3 it was probably at least as much about improving fuel economy as it was about making the care agile and nimble.

I had power seats in my last car and when anchorwoman had been driving, they were a bit tedious to reset. These manual ones are much quicker. I think power seats are only really very convenient if there are TWO memory settings (I notice the CX-5 has only one). I'm quite happy with the manual seat and if I were the only driver I'd be happy to delete the power seats in lieu of something more useful like the sunroof you guys get - not even a payable option here!
