i am gonna be purchasing a set of dedicated winter wheel.
it will be steelies with winter tires,

my question is would you run the set up with no tpms.
i know check engine light will be on all the time.
just have to check tire pressure from time to time.

thanks for any response.

It should be a TPMS light rather than a check engine light. I recommend getting the sensor but there's nothing stopping you from not getting them and checking the pressures periodically.

I bought a set of 16x7 Drag DR-69 wheels with Continental WinterContact Si 215/60-16 tires. I have a 2016 so no TPMS sensors. The setup worked great last winter and I just put them back on this week.

yes, correct tpms light.
certain online vendors says that the set up
would come preporgrammed and no need
to use a tire shop.

If the newer CX-3 TPMS system works like it did in my old RX-8, getting new sensors paired with the car is just a matter of driving the car around with the new sensors installed.

Other cars use a system that requires a special electronic tool to tell the TPMS computer to accept new sensors.
