I will have to ask the question here again on the forum.
Are there any people who experience many "mutes" on the DAB radio?, an experience that the sensitivity of the DAB receiver is very low. Even in areas with heavy coverage and where you can almost see the transmitter mast, the DAB radio in our car has many outcomes (are muting). Very frustrating,
The infotainment system also has a function where it "automatically" should switch between FM and DAB reception if the signal becomes too weak on one of them and the signal (or program material) is the same ..... it never worked in our car ...

I should just mention that we have a 5 year old Honda Civic with an original infotainment system that also includes DAB radio ... it sounds crystal clear and never falls out (unless in tunnels).

So I wonder if it's general or if we have a "fault" in our car radio. The technicians at the Mazda workshop just pull on their shoulder and after a short ride and say "it seems very normal" .. Ehh, and maybe there is better version in the future? .. maybe ..

Mazda does not take my inquiries seriously at all and I'm about to be really tired of them.

We got in May installed version 59.00.443 EU N, are there any newer (here in Europe)?

I'm not familiar with DAB radio, being an American, but is this a terrestrial radio network? If so, I'm guessing the problem is related the small shark fin style antenna. They are often not as good as a nice long whip antenna.

I rarely used the radio, DAB or FM, on my car after I got it in April 2016. Whenever I tried using DAB, I found the signal very flakey and gave up on it and just used music on my USB stick.

In late May this year, when I had the climate control faulty condensor changed under warranty, the dealer also upgraded the OS after I'd requested it when the fault on the condensor was confirmed after I'd reported the problem a few weeks earlier.

The upgraded version I now have is 59.00.502 EU N. I have tried DAB far more since the upgrade and I've noticed the signal is no longer flakey and I only loose it for a few seconds when travelling between regions.

So if I were you I'd be requesting the dealer updates the OS to this latest version and, if they stall at doing it, either try another dealer if not too far away or try contacting Mazda Denmark's Customer Serice department for assistance.

Hope you can get this done and it solves the DAB problems.

I experience the same fallouts of DAB reception, usually when a big truck or bus is passing by.
And I've never seen the switch between FM and DAB work either.
My version is 59.00.502 EU and it's the same as before.
Could be a poor antenna which, I believe, is part of the rearwindow and not the shark fin (but please correct me on this).

Correct Santa. That little device at the top of the window.

Dash cams can play havoc with DAB radios in case anyone has one.
