Hi all,
I am looking into installing a set of USB or power outlets in the back of the center console for the kids iPads ness the back seat. But I can’t figure out how to dismantle the center console in my new facelifted 2018 CX-3!
My plan is to steal the power from the 12V outlet up front and then extend it to the rear seat an on into the boot for power to my cool box. But how do I do this?
Can anyone please show me (pics) how to dismantle the center console???

I used these to install USB power outlets in the blank place in my stereo in my RX-8.

I tapped into power for the cigarette lighter/accessory outlet which was already a fused link. You will probably still want to install an in-line fuse in the wiring (something like this).

Having just had my center console apart for my Car Play upgrade, I can say your plan of using power from the front accessory should work fine. The file attached to this post is the trim removal instructions I used to do my Car Play install. It should have all the info you need to complete this.

THANKS NotAPreppie, this gave me a clue what to do as my CX-3 is the facelifted version with the electric handbrake. And that "new" center console is a bit different than the "old" without an armrest.....

For some reason I was thinking the new console begins with the 2019s :-(

I bought my CX-3 in late AUG 2018 - this is the "facelifted" version with the electronic handbrake, the updated center console, Matrix LED lights, updated auto pilot/speed control and new crome lists on the outside....
I was thinking this still was a 2018 model and not a 2019, but then I might be wrong......

The directions have specific directions for cars with electric parking brakes. Do those pictures match your updated center console?
