Hello Everyone,

Hoping somebody can solve this mystery as not even the dealer knew about this.

Can anybody identity this button? Cannot find anything in the manuals... looks retrofitted but the time spent to do the holes doesn't make me think this was a bish'bash'bosh job.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Definitely aftermarket. I'm guessing you bought this vehicle used. Any chance to track down the previous owner and ask them?
The only thing I can think of is if your CX has any auxiliary lighting, i.e. additional driving or fog lights, that's the likely location to place the switch.

Are you sure theres a hole drilled and its not just stuck on with 3m tape or something? I took that panel box apart some time ago to see if a switch for aux lights was possible and the back plastic layout is unusable for switch mounting by hole drilling.

Could be one of those old school anit-theft immobilisers. Where it needs to be pressed when the car makes a beep sound. Best to figure out where it wires to and to what...
