A friend of mine is a parts guru for Mazda and Toyota. Apparently, Toyota makes rubber door seals that fill the gap between the front and rear doors. It keeps the dust and road grime from getting into the door jambs, which are a paint to clean. After some quick measuring and discussion, he sent me these parts and I installed in about 20 minutes.

You might find that reduces exterior noise too.

Thats great!! is this a direct add on? no modification required? if you got the part number I think we would all like to install these.

Thanks!

They are very easy to put on. There is some double-sided tape up and down the entire rubber strip that sticks to the 'lip' on the door skin. The top part has a tab that tucks underneath the moulding.

Now that is a modification I believe we could all use! Toyota dealer, here I come.

As well as noise reduction, it probably keeps most of the dust out of the cavity between doors.

By the way, I wonder if Subaru makes offers a similar product.

Thanks so much for posting the part number. I would assume we have to order 2 of those part numbers? One for each side?

Ordered these today from Toyota, $15 buck each for a grand total of $33.90 for anyone who is interested in knowing the cost.

I'm located in Canada so that should probably be a Canada wide price.

Good stuff! These are definitely a need. I get a hold of them here in AB :)
