Hey! I didn't use the VT tune, I just went straight to DRTuned since I wanted something more thorough and not just a preset essentially
Hope this helps!
Hey! I didn't use the VT tune, I just went straight to DRTuned since I wanted something more thorough and not just a preset essentiallyHey Allie,
I'm in the process of getting a VT Supercharger for my 2017 CX-3 AWD, and I'm wondering if you used the tune that came with the VT Kit?
Did it work alright? Or did you jump straight into getting DRTuned to tune it?
I appreciate any input you can give!
It does thank you. When I messaged DRTuned he informed me that he no longer tunes any VTRacing SkyActiv engines. I have a few leads on others but it's sad news to hear.Hey! Oh no! I didn't know that. That is a shame. I'll keep me ear to the ground for other tunersIt does thank you. When I messaged DRTuned he informed me that he no longer tunes any VTRacing SkyActiv engines. I have a few leads on others but it's sad news to hear.
By chance did you need to upgrade your fuel pump or spark plugs?
Maybe I missed it but I don't believe I saw anything about those.
I'd definitely do it again, now that it's fully tuned it's all running so smoothly. Feels like it came from Mazda this way. Also, my MPG barely dropped. I've found my gas mileage for my commute has stayed mostly the same. Of course, using 93 octane now, though.Hey @Alliesaurus,
Thinking about doing the same modification to my CX-3 (2016, 2.0).
Overall, how have you found the experience? Would you do the modification again?
Awesome, thanks for the reply.I'd definitely do it again, now that it's fully tuned it's all running so smoothly. Feels like it came from Mazda this way. Also, my MPG barely dropped. I've found my gas mileage for my commute has stayed mostly the same. Of course, using 93 octane now, though.
Install was pretty easy as well, took me one full day. Longest part being cleaning the valves while I had the intake manifold off. Haven't had any issues (except for that weird ECU thing which I think was just an issue with my car. Other's have now supercharged their CX-3s and haven't had any issues at all.) Definitely install the catch can while you're at it, though, much easier thank trying to do it after imho
Thinking about taking it to do some autox next month, I think it'll definitely keep up no questions asked
