Sorry if this has already been discussed. What's the quality like on the non-bose sound system? Is it 6 speakers? I'm not sure if its worth getting the bose for an extra ~$1300 but i certainly don't want poor quality sound. I have the stock system in my mazda 3 currently and that's good enough for me. Just wanted to make sure it's not crap like the subaru's. Thanks

I find that the Bose system is worth it. Great sound nice added base from the sub in the trunk. Yes it takes up a bit of space back there but nice over all sound. Go to any dealer and pop in a cd in the different models to test out.

I can attest to that, had Bose systems in my cars and even home bose systems and they are by far impressive. Going the extra length install sound deadening is a great way to complement it.

Gi agree with this entirely. On the RAVs I've had in the past, the entire rear door linings would resonate if you directed only moderate base through them. This little Mazda is geared up for some serious base and last night I really cranked up the volume on one of Jacko's tracks and I could feel the bass through the car and even in my chest. That would have just about disassembled my RAV. I will add a diagram of the Bose system to this post but the question I would have is, does the none Bose setup have the same construction in the doors. If it does, then it might sound OK at high volume - especially for a stock sound system. We know that Bose have added a big amp and a rumbley sub woofer but if the rest of it benefits from the anti vibration package, you are very much back to a normal audio upgrade.

The best is to compare at the dealer but as above, I am rather impressed with the Bose setup.

OK, I,ve included the overview of the Bose system here. It not only shows the layout but a chart with the speaker sizes. If you take this to a “in car audio” specialist, they might be ably to offer you an upgraded speaker package that is cheaper than the Bose upgrade.

That is hopeless. I’ve messaged the administrators to up the file size that can be uploaded because the current file size of 20Kb is a joke. So far we seem like a rudderless ship and even trolls take a week to get binned. If anyone wants the full size pdf, just message me with your email address. Sorry!

Admin. Several people have offered to moderate the forum. Please give them a go and please up the file size limits on the forum.

It may be easier to pm them so the request is seen. But it doesn't seem they are very active (last online 9/09)

I have the base model with the regular system in it and I've test driven two Mazdas with the BOSE system and I found both yawn worthy. I'm super into my music and when I did both test drives I went into the settings and turned the bass all the way up to 6 and put in my test drive mix (yep, I have one just for this reason) and in the Bose outfitted cars, I was not impressed. I was willing to entertain the notion of paying the additional dollars for the bose sound, but with it sounding worse than the system on my (then) Nissan Sentra, I didn't even bother. I am going to be putting in a subwoofer, but listening to The Weeknd with the sound up to 36 gives me plenty of rumble in my ride.

I'm not a soundhead so I can't go on about sibilance, polar response, total harmonic distortion, etc.

At default settings, the Bose system in the CX-3 does need to be on somewhat loud to bring out the nuances.

Baduk had listed these settings

Bass +3
Treble +6
Fade +2

as a means of optimizing the ambient stereo sound in the CX-3. I'm playing around with them with decent results.

Anyone else have any suggested settings?

I do still want to try the Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound System with AudioPilot and 9 speakers in the 2016 Mazda3 and CX-5, but I'm afraid it will make me sad when I go back to my CX-3. ;)

From some of these posts, it's evident that no 'factor' system is good enough for some. We should take the 'upgrades' with a grain of salt. Heck, even the same factory system seems to be awesome or bland...depending on the ears attached to the person saying it.

The only touring models that are available within 300 miles of me (boston) have the premium package with bose. I may be okay with spending an extra grand for leatherette and bsm, but throw on an extra ~$1300 for bose and a moonroof i'll never use, that's pushing it for me. Maybe i'll just buy a Sport and use the extra cash to ebay a set of 18" wheels. Haha sorry to get off topic

I was willing to entertain the touring model with the tech package in Fwd, but since all mazda wanted to send was awd I wasn't about to pay for the awd and the tech package and after testing the sound I figured the only reason I would be getting the tech package for at this point would be the blindspot monitorubg and the rear cross check radar thing. So not worth it for me.

First upgrade I'm doing is tinting the windows. After that it's on to the 18s and rims. And trying to figure out the evil m.

@BaystateBlue Here is the Link to the Evil M logo I got. http://www.amazon.com/SuPoo-Mazda-B...ie=UTF8&qid=1443279042&sr=8-1&keywords=evil+m

Your stock badge on the back has two pegs in it that go into the tailgate, I kept the plug in that held the stock on in place. I then placed the Evil M over top (After cleaning the area of course) and let the 3M mounting tape do the trick. I am going to put a thin coat of Silicone around it when I have a chance to make sure no water leaks in behind it, I have seen to many Mazda Logos rust out in the past and I am not sure it was from any issues like that; I just want to be safe.

I had a speed3 with the bose system and it sounds better, cleaner and louder in my CX-3.
Got a friend of mine with his speed3 and told me the same thing.
