I retrofitted some Morimoto Mini H1 6.0 in my Mazda 2016 Grand Touring because in Mexico we don't get the LED package even in the high trim so I decided to do a little extra work and install these bad boys and the result is really amazing, I've had previously owned some FX-R projectors and I sincerely don't even missed them with this ones.

Thanks to the www.retrofitsource.com guys totally recommend their stuff excellent HID kits, you really are getting what you pay for.

-Morimoto Mini H1 6.0
-Morimoto XB H1 5500k HID kit 35w.

Here's a little video of what the final work looks like, more videos coming soon.. thanks I hope you like it.

That's awesome! I'd rather have HID than the LED, maybe I'm just imagining things but I feel like the HID lights in my previous car were brighter and covered more distance than the LEDs in my CX-3.

They most likely were brighter.
The LEDs on the CX-3 are kept below 2000 lumens so it doesn't need headlight washers and auto leveling (though Mazda has equiped the CX-3 with it), at least that's the true in Europe. Some new HID headlight are also below 2000 lumen using new 25W bulbs (the Fiat 500X is an example) where the "old" and high-end HIDs are using 35W bulbs and are above 3000 lumens.

If I'm wrong, please correct me :)

I too really prefer HID than LED lights, I don't know exactly the lumens a LED produce but a High-end HID kit can give you about 3500 lumens depending the color (k). The only thing I like of the OEM LED headlights are the DRL's. I've compared my previous FX-R and this Mini H1 projectors and you can see way far more road and the cut-off looks even nicer:D.

our LED's look really crisp & white from an aesthetic point of view (when looking at the car) but from the driver's POV I don't think they illuminate that well.

Also I've noticed there are some weird hours during sunset where the lowbeams dont seem to improve visibility despite being on.

Hi rsanchez, I'd like to know when your swap the projectors, did you need to cut or trim anything in the headlight assembly or it's just bolt on? I've ordered the Mini H1 7.0, so I guess the dimension should be the same.
