Recently i bought used car from japan(I live in Russia). Today i've had a small accident and damaged the front grille. Now, searching for the replacement, i ve noticed that my grille has something that looks like front parking sensors (i noticed it only now because i dont have front side parking sensors in the bumper and i ve never heard them working) The problem is that i cant find any griil that has same mounting for them, even in the available catalogues, although i see a lot of used cx-3 with same parking sensors in the front grille and not in the front bumper. So i am confused, should i replace grille with a new one and throw this parking sensors off or it is not parking sensors at all and car use it as part of a safety systems?
P.S they have K6021, GMC8-67UC1 part number and connected, but it's impossible to see where the wires goes.
Im not sure what year this is or regional differences but to my knowledge (pre facelift bumper grille years) the grille was not replacable. I mean you could technically replace it but its alot of work and involves breaking rivets that hold the bumper and grille together. Then finding a new grille unit that someone already broke off the same way, and then finding a way to align it onto the car like oem. Its really annoying the way mazda did this since they basically want you to buy an entirely new bumper. I would suggest maybe trying to salvage it?
Im not sure if the painted part of the bumper is in good condition or not but you can buy the chrome trim around the grille fascia separatly as a Left and Right part. I believe there is either oem or even aftermarket covers for the two lower grille fin rows you are missing and would just require bending the dented plastic to form and adhere the new fin covers.
Strange enough I thought all of mazdas tech was in the logo unit in the middle of the grille for the earlier models and this is the first time Im seeing a parking sensor in the grille itself. Unforunatly this looks very specific to your model and being a imported model might require a direct from japan type part which is going to cost more. Idk if you have inspection/safety regulations where the car has to be checked every so often for compliance like we do here but removing the sensors would be an automatic fail here since it would probably throw a error/warning light or message which the inspector would auto fail the test. The joys of 'emissions' testing in the states :/ On the other hand if you dont have any of the sort, it might not really do anything at all. You could always disconnect the sensors from the inside of the grille and see if it does anything weird.
I should mention, if you have a model year with automatic braking or some sort of similar thing, this is probably going to cause issues. Best case it turns off the auto braking system because it senses an error, worst case it decides to brake check you randomly like nissan and their faulty 2017 rouge sensors. We're presuming they are parking sensors but who knows what it is at this point

Great thanks for the answer. Looks like i should try to dissasemble bumper before buying a new grill. Would not think that it can be problem to replace. Probably, i will find an answer for front sensors function and find the exact part code for replacement.
P.S My wife has Mazda Atenza(Japanese version of the Mazda 6) and she also has only two front parking sensors, not in the grille but right beneath, in the bumper. We both have SBSC option so probably this sensors are part of the system, although mazda's manuals doesnt say anything about that. I will try to disconnect them and see what happens.
Hi there. Remove bumper from car. Turn it so inside faces up. Use hot water, not boiling hot, and pour over dented part, it should soften up and pop back or can be manipulated to close to spec. Try this first, it will be your cheapest solution.
