I don't know much about cars, so if this is a stupid question...

I have locking nuts on my CX3 and don't want them. My wife has a 2014 CX9 and occasionally parks in less secure places. I would like to take them off my car and put them on my wife's. Apparently they are both M12 x 1.5. Anything I am not considering?

If they're both M12 x 1.5 then you're likely good to go.

Technically, there are a few other criteria to consider (cone vs ball seat, depth, outer diameter) but if they're both from recent Mazdas then I doubt those will be a problem. For the most part, you'll be able to tell pretty quickly if it's not going to work (i.e. cone seat vs ball seat or too wide to fit in the lug holes on the wheel).

They will fit. No worries. I'm guessing both yours and your wife's cars are on stock wheels? So what NotAPreppie mentioned above wouldn't really apply, as you are not putting on aftermarket wheels to have to worry about the seating of the lug nuts.
