Hi there
Posting just to share my experience. Thanks to ASH8 updated from 59.00.502 to 74.00.324 (one file, one update only). Installed in the service a new CMU unit from Ali, all together it cost me the same price what the official dealer charge only to update the original navigation. So far no any issues neither with new software nor with the new CMU. The only question remaining why I didn’t do this before.

I update my mx5 from 59.00.502 NA to 74.00.32a EU. Only because it was delivered with no Navi and the Cx3 has an old version i have to buy a new sd card i guess.....? I am very happy that i have settings all to Netherlands.

Also andoid is not working, i guess i have to buy an Hub?

In case you're not aware, as well as first updating the firmware to a version v70.00.21 or later you will also need to buy a new USB unit - with a phone icon against one of the USB slots - and the associated cabling. It will be all this hardware cost and the labour cost for fitting that a dealer will include as well as the firmware upgrade labour cost in a quote for the Apple CarPlay / Android Auto upgrade.

It is possible to do all the work yourself if willing to follow religiously the necessary firmware upgrade steps plus taking apart a fair section of the central console and the infotainment screen removal and refitting in order to replace the hub unit.
