Future Mazda customers who live in Canada should be excited about this. Mazda Canada has announced that all 2015 model year vehicles will come with an unlimited mileage warranty. That means new owners will be able to drive as much as they want to with no worry about losing their warranty.

The unlimited mileage warranty will become the standard factory warranty in 2015. The warranty covers 1 year of service adjustments, all defective parts for three years, new vehicle coverage for three years, powertrain coverage for five, body corrosion for seven, and three years of roadside assistance.

Just another reason to buy a Mazda.

well you're still restricted by calender days. This is more marketing than relevance, is this announcement likely to induce people to drive more because they can, no. the Majorty of manuacturers warranties expire at the end of calender limit not mileage limit, most people simply don't drive enough.

Great press though ;)

Mazda Canada requires an oil change every 3 month regardless of mileage. Doing it for 5 years is not something I am looking forward to. With my last 2 Mazdas, as soon as the warranty is over, I switch to 6 month/7500 km, always synthetic, and both of them got to 200,000 km without ever burning any oil.

Why is that though, it seems superfluous? Unless Mazda is offering free oil changes its simply a cash grab to pull consumption forward....

Yea most people aren't going to go over the mileage limit, but now if you do want to take your CX-3 on a few cross country road trips, you have that option. Most people won't use it, but there are a few that will, and the piece of mind that you can drive as much as you want is nice. Mainly marketing though.

you never didn't have the option to go cross country... If you're not driving your car because of mileage concersn (on a new car) why exactly do you have a car in the first place?

I was just saying that it is nice to not have to exceed your warranty if you go on a few long trips. I don't see what your issue is.

I'm sure that there is a small group of owners for which this unlimited mileage thing would be right up their alley. It's not something that every company offers. I'm thinking people who have to drive long distances for work or something like that.

So if you don't do the oil changes when you're supposed to, they void your warranty? is that the deal?

Changing the oil every 3 months sounds a bit extreme unless you are planning on driving almost 5000 miles or 10,000km every few months or abusing your CX3 mechanically or rally driving. I would say the Mazda dealer mechanic is trying to pull one over you. Although when you talk about unlimited km warranty to reach the point where the CX3 will fall apart say for example 250,000, 500,000 or even 1000000 km you would be changing the oil almost monthly. I wonder if anyone is going to test the warranty like this as to pull those kind of millage you will have to have some serious money and time of work to drive the car constantly to the point of mechanical failure.

I got the lifetime oil changes with my CX-3 in Canada. I did this so I won't have any issue. If they want to change it for every 3 months I will gladly drive up throw my keys at them and let them have fun with it. I will make sure to give them a laundry list of things to look into and check when they have it, Like rattles, software upgrades and anything else that I think they can do.

In croatia, europe we have 5 years, with 150000 km warranty. This is much better option, and oil change is one per year. New oils can go up to 25000 km without change.

I'm supposed to bring mine in for service in Feb. I told them i won't even have 1k miles on it then (4 months of owning). I was told that it has to come in anyways.

I just dislike the inconvenience of having to have my vehicle serviced. Was nice my last car only needed 1 oil change/service over the 34 months i owned it - which felt weird but I ran with it.

I'd like to just take mine in twice per year which based on my mileage would be every 6/months and 2500 miles which seems reasonable to me.

Yeah in Canada it is 4 months or 8000 kms. It's because of the climate here that affects the oil in the engine. Well at least that's the theory behind it. Personally I go 6 months or 12,000 kms on synthetic oil when the warranty is expired. The Mercedes has a 12,000 kms oil change even in Canada. So I'm sure the Mazda can do it too.

I do not change oil based on time. My oil change interval is 5000 miles on my 08 Miata which lives between 4000 RPM and the red line :). Mobile One synthetic oil and Mobile One oil filter.
My CX3 will have the same.
Check out FiltersandWipers.com for bulk oil filter purchases.
The CX3 takes a M-108.

Mazda Canada Is Every 4 months or 8000km, until 2017 when it changed to every 6 months or 8000km.

Unlimited MILEAGE warranty, is actually pretty awesome. One main problem with warranty programs is mileaging out. This eliminates that.
3 year Unlimited mileage basic warranty
and 5 year Unlimited Powertrain.

Not to mention if you purchase MAP (Mazda Added Protection) extended warranty can leave you with up to an 8 year Unlimited mileage warranty... pretty awesome.
