Any ideas as to why the display is upside down and how to fix it?

Welcome to the forum.
Seems like you're in the movie Tenent. LMAO.
First try to do a system restart. How to do that is holding a combination of the button on the command controls, it may make it work again.
You can google how to perform a MZDconnect restart.

Mazda Dealer will sort it out, most likely a loose connection, that usualy the case with LCD screen on computers.
