GO more slowly than this guy ...
a. He makes removal of the switch panel look a lot easier than it is ... the official method instructs to first put masking tape around the edges of the door panel, where it meets the switch panel.
b. Then using your spudger/plastic tool, carefully lever around all four sides of the switch panel ... with most of your effort as he shows in the video.
c. A new switch panel (sans the switches) is $30 ... how do I know? ;-)
Note: there is a screw under the switch panel that must also be removed ... you can barely see him do it in the video.
Then remove the escutcheon behind the door lever, and the screw underneath ... there are only two screws for the whole door.
Finally, lever the panel off in the normal manner.
