Glad to have you! Do you actually have your CX-3 in your possession? Would love to see some pictures if you get the chance.

Cheers!

Welcome!

Winter is going to be here soon! Have you started to think about what you'll do to prepare it for that messy season?

Thanks! I think I'll leave her the way she (all season tires) is and see how she fairs through the upcoming winter. I hear it's going to be a mild one.

Let's hope so. My car got stuck last yea. I was halfway backed out of my driveway before it was stuck in the snow and I couldn't get back onto the driveway either...

What i've learned in a situation like that is if you can back up more, do it.. and use that extra space to gain speed and launch forward.

The other thing people do is keep moving back and forth to help flatten the snow into what the tires can grip on somewhat.

Thats my plan as well.

The first year (2003) we had our Murano, it snowed a lot and we only had all seasons on it as well as being only fwd and we didn't get stuck once. I'm gong to do the same and if it happens that I do need snow tires, then i will put them on.

I must admit, I've run my RAV4s on winter tyres for the last five or six winters but due to the added complication of TPMS, I'm kind of erring towards trying this CX3 on the regular tyres for a bit. It doesn't sit well with me because winter tyres are not all about snow. Road holding, braking and acceleration are all considerably improved when the ambient temp drops below 8C. There is also a big improvement in wet weather performance. I had Yokohama W Drives on my RAVs and they were just astonishing. I don't want some knuckle dragging tyre fitter ruining my 18 inch rims so if I do decide to splash out, I will get another set of alloys.

CX-3 has a passive TPMS that uses ABS-sensors, doesn't it?
