Flashing/Blinking Service Light

Hi All, I have a 2015 CX-3 diesel (Japanese Import) and I had it serviced in Jan (so 4 months ago) when the wrench light initially came on, at the time the warnings listed the car was due for a service. Car was serviced and the light was reset.
A month or so later, the light came back on (not flashing) and I took it to Mazda, because at this point using the reset option on the onboard infotainment did not reset the light, they plugged in something (assuming an OBD) and reset a couple of things and the light was gone. (PS I had to pay $50 to reset the light)
Now again 3/4 weeks later the light is back, but now it's flashing...? Mazda is a bit confused and everything they tried (including the tip meter and engine start button reset method is not working to reset the light, they've also disabled the setting to warn for the service.)
Has anyone had this issue before as there is no definition for a flashing wrench light? The mechanics are saying it's a glitch and they're not really offering any solution.. other than booking the car for a diagnostics to see what's wrong.

PS the car drives like a dream, when driving it does not feel like anything is wrong with the car.. also when serviced they replaced the oil and the engine filter.

I'm hoping that there's someone else out there that had this issue before and has a solution for me?? Thanks

I do have the same problem with my wifes cx3 diesel.

Flashing wrench light appeared on the drive back from work.

Have tried resetting but hasn't worked.

Someone has posted this on a similar thread on the UK forum site :-

"FLASHING WRENCH SOLVED

it is a warning to draining fuel sedimentor. Comes on every 20000kms of driving. Go to your Mazda dealer, using their diagnostic equipment go to data reset and reset sediment. Will require doing everything 20000kms or at service."

I presume this only applies to diesel engines

My wife's 2015 diesel CX3 is also having this problem (like yours, a Japanese used import into NZ). Began flashing at around 60,000 kms. As someone on the UK forum said - one of the regular CX3 diesel service items is draining the diesel fuel filter/sedimentor, with a filter replacement every three services. I sourced a new fuel filter from Mazda (be careful, as the NZ new CX3 diesels apparently have a different filter, and this one had to be got over from Aussie, cost NZ$79.40 all up, which I didn't think was too bad), and plan to replace the filter this weekend. I must say, all my dealings with the Mazda service people here in New Zealand have left me with the impression that the knowledge on forums like this is far superior to theirs... I don't know if it's because the forums are specialised, or the Mazda guys can't be asked to put in any effort on a Japanese import problem. Just thought I'd let you know that there is a service requirement behind the flashing light, even if it's now no longer flashing due to the Data Reset/Reset Sediment fix?

Same issue here, got a Mazda 2 2014 1.5 diesel. Had the flashing wrench light for over 2 months. The cars serviced and still showing. No errors on OBE machines. Any solutions yet?

Hi guys, cx3 1.5d. You need to reset the service interval for the fuel filter using a scan tool to revolve the blinking wrench light. I used G-Scan under special functions. Am sure other scan tools can do the same. I also changed the fuel filter prior to the light. Hope that helps. Cheers
