Ok it will be time soon for me to want to change out all the drivetrain fluids (trans, diff, transfer case). I took a look at the tech pdfs that anchorman posted up (very helpful thank you) :)

My q concerns the trans. It's listed up as removing the drain plug on the pan and you will drain out 3.3L of fluid then refill and check the level. I'm sure the trans actually holds more than 3.3L of fluid so is there a way to drain out ALL the fluid and replace that amount with new stuff?

Don't really like knowing that a large amount of fluid still running in the trans will be old fluid I want it all to be fresh new fluid.

Let me know if there's a way to get all the fluid out. Thanks.

You won't be able to get it all without pulling the trans out. The torque converter will hold quite a bit of trans fluid, and areas within the transmission will typically hold some. The only way to get it all would be going to a shop that can do a "flush" although I'm not a fan of those.
