My Nav seems to have been preloaded with Apps that don't work in Canada. Whenever I plug in my Phone to the USB it just seems to take forever and download all of my regular downloaded music but not the stuff from Spotify. It won't just let me play live from Spotify or anything else. Can it not just play live from whatever is playing on your phone or will it only play what it has transferred over? Also, if I just play the downloaded stuff and use shuffle, it plays my videos, sound effects and anything else that seems to be on there.
Any ideas? I'm somewhat electronically illiterate so maybe it is just me. Please help. Thanks!

You have to use bluetooth to stream music from apps, and to use the media apps built into the Mazda Connect system. If you're just plugging it in the phone acts like a USB drive with files on it.

Does it only behave that way when connected via USB? Have you tried over Bluetooth to see if behavior is different? I've noticed when I play podcasts on my iPhone, for instance, it's very buggy when connected via USB. It will cause the head unit in the car to lockup and reboot every so often. But when I connect over Bluetooth, I never have any issues. I'm running the latest official firmware release in my car.

My Apple music app and podcast will play no problem with the usb. I will have a friend that will try to play spotify and amazon music thru their iPhone and it will display the message no playable files, might just be their phone though. Not really sure.

Thanks for the replies. I tried it over Bluetooth and it works to play my Spotify music. I guess I just can't' use the USB. I have an Android phone and I understand that the iPhone works but not Android for this. It would be nice if you could download the Apps you like.
