Hi, My wife just bought a 2016 2.0l CX3 AWD in white. I think it's amazing car.
My main interest is in adding a tow bar and daytime running lights which don't come on the Australian Maxx. All the aftermarket kits have holes for fog lights which the car doesn't have either.

Cheers,
Mack in Brisbane

Hi I can't help you with the DRL's but I can share with you my installation of a tow hitch. These are the parts I bought through Amazon Canada and Aliexpress.
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01606IU68/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (I bought this one)
https://www.amazon.ca/Manufacturing-114181-Class-Trailer-Hitch/dp/B01606IPOK/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1538427998&sr=8-6&keywords=curt+trailer+hitch+mazda+cx-3 (This one fits aswell)

The tow bar was easy to install and did not even have to lower the muffler and tail pipes. Follow this Youtube video.
The wiring I ran it inside under the lower door scuff trim (just tuck the wire up underneath) and used a fuse tap from the driver's side fuse panel instead of directly from the battery. This is the fuse tap placement.

Install is for the CX-5 but removal of panels are the same for the CX-3. Follow this Youtube video.
The install took me about an hour and a half. Hope this helps.

Thanks F8f,

I checked out Amazon Australia and found a CX3 towbar for "only $756.43", and a Genuine Mazda Towbar Wiring Harness Kit for only $199.61 but hey! FREE Delivery

I've never seen a Fuse Tape before, those solve a big problem, thanks.

Being my wife's "new" car I might just go ahead and pay for a pro install. I can get home install for less than the Australian Amazon hitch.
I enjoyed the videos. I don't know much about modern car construction so they were enlightening.
Cheers, Mack

Hi Mack,
Glad to be of help. I found this hitch on the Amazon Australia site for only $129.05 Just search for '114181'
You can try and find CURT 56300 / Tekonsha 118718 / Tekonsha 119251 they all fit the 2016 CX-3.

On the Canadian Amazon it states it fits the 2016 CX-3. You'll have to crawl under the rear of your wife's CX3 to see if it resembles the Youtube video.

I searched for “towbar” and got the Aussie version and Aussie price.
As you said, the Curt “hitch” is available. The text says it’s for CX3 and has a pic of a CX3.

CURT 114181 Class 1 Trailer Hitch with Ball Mount

Items: $129.05
Delivery: $219.36
Order Total: $348.41
I found a wiring harness for $100. on eBay with the flat, 7 pin plug used down here. Since it's my wife's car I'll probably pay $150 more and get a pro install. That would be less stressful ; )

The boat/trailer the CX3 will be towing is 750kg/1,650lbs.

Amazon Australia also has CX3 mud flaps:
Tradico® Set Mud Flaps For Mazda CX-3 CX3 2016 2017 2018 Splash Guards Mudguards

by Tradico
$618.00 new

As you can imagine, these mud flaps are a little more expensive than the ones I bought from AliExpress.
It pays to shop around.
Thanks, Mack

Hi Mack,
I don't know what the Aussie front bumper looks like but this is the Canadian one. If you could show me yours maybe we can figure it out together.
That looks like it. -No fog light hole. All the DRLs kits have the fog light openings.

yeah, it looks that way and if it were my car, I'd know already, but my wife is happy with her car the way it, is so I have to be careful how I proceed.
I watched videos and still can't believe you take apart cars using a cloth covered screw driver.... I can't believe they just snap together!

Gone are the days where cars were made from steel bumpers and frames. Now it's all about saving weight and speed of assembly. Also to absorb the kinetic energy in case of a collision. Good luck with your mods.
