New CX-3 owner here.

I’m looking to get some new tires for my CX3. However, the 215/50/18’s are an annoying size that only offer a few tires. I’m not a fan of the Yokohama Avid Ascends. My question is - if I were to increase the size to a 235/50/18, would the tire still fit on my OEM 18x7 aluminum alloy wheels? Just overall trying to find the best all season tire for a quiet ride, grip in the rain and traction in the snow.

thanks in advance!

A 235 should fit on the rim but there are other concerns especially if you keep the same aspect ratio of 50. A 235 / 40 would keep the overall circumference of the tire closer to the OEM size and have less effect on your speedo, but the width might still be an issue on the fronts when making turns.

I have the stock 215 / 50 -18 Yokohama tires on my CX3 GT for summer use. For winter I have a set of 225 / 55 - 17 Michelin X-Ice snow tires mounted on aftermarket aluminum rims. With just 10mm extra width the snow tires fit nicely in the wheel openings and don't rub on anything.
