15" Winters doable?

Got a GS with 16" alloy in Canada. And I am shopping for winters. Normally people like to do minus one size for winters. Just wondering if 15" is doable. Do they have enough clearance of brakes?

Cheers..

Im not sure about that Ron.

There is a wide range of choice on 16s so I would stick with them.

16's are thick enough that you don't need to go down a size.

Went with 16" steel wheels for snows from the 18" alloys on GT. (Canada) Just to be sure, got the rims from Mazda dealer rather than take a chance on "universal" steel wheels.
Noticed that the part number for the Mazda 16" alloys for CX-3 is the same as for the Mazda 3 but I was told part number for the CX-3 steel wheels is different.
They fit and look fine (with used Mazda 3 wheel disks) and do not have to worry about banging up more expensive alloys in the winter.
As there is no 15" wheel option for the CX-3 (here at least), I would probably stick with 16s to avoid possible issues.

I took this photo of the clearance on the 16 inch wheels. You might get another 1/2 inch.

Thanks guys. Thanks anchorman for the picture.. from the picture you provided, it doesn't look like 15" will fit...

Just so happen my friend has a set of 15" xi2 lying around... I'll stick with 16" like plepak mentioned 16" is already thick (tall sidewall) enough, probably no point going minus one..

Cheers..

If you've got access to a set, try one on. You're only looking for half an inch on radius
