Cx3 phone placement and gps

Hello everyone. I just bought a 2016 cx3 GT. I love it but the squeaky armrest drives me nutty and although it has a phone slot, I'd never use it. Has anyone found a good place to mount a phone?

Also has anyone successfully updated the gos card on their own. I live in a brand new complex and it's not listed. Possibly on the update.

I bought one of these about 10 years ago and it has made several transitions through several cars.

Works perfectly in my 2005 RX-8, 2009 Infiniti G37x, and 2016 CX-3.

Just loosen the front bolt (closest to the center tunnel) holding down the seat rail and sneak the mounting bracket in between the rail and floor (lining up the mounting hole on the floor and rail with the bracket). Then torque the bolt back down and bend the mount arm to your desired location. The arm is an aluminum pipe inside the plastic tubing so it will hold its shape pretty well.

Can confirm its great accessory. Have it installed in my 08 saturn sky since theres no room for anything there. Only thing is it will shake around a bit. Its not as 'solid' as something thats directly bolted on or glued onto something but thats the nature of the 'bendable' arm. But the adjustable arm reach is super handy and manageable. Your passenger might feel a little cramped with the arm on their side of the seat though.

Are you familiar with the Steelie line of accessories? They have lots of options though I've not tried them myself.
