Cool New CX-3 owner - radio/navigation questions

Hi Guys!
Just bought my first Mazda...zoom zoom! Love it. Got a couple of questions I hope you can help me with:
1. Is there a setting to mute the radio sound when the navigation is speaking to you? Can't seem to find how to do that. Not very safe if you can't!
2. I can adjust the nav volume, but can't find how to raise the "commands" volume - like "wait for the tone."
3. Also having trouble getting album art for the music function.

Fyi...I have an early 2016 (Sept. 2015) model.

Thanks for any help!

You can raise the volume from the settings menu or just turn the volume control while the voice is speaking.

You only get album art when connected via USB.

Thanks, Anchorman. Any way to mute the radio when the nav is speaking?

No, the system automatically mutes only the passenger side speaker, and just reduces the radio volume from the driver's side speaker whilst the sat nav voice directions are broadcast. Just turn up the volume whilst the sat nav is speaking until the voice becomes loud enough to decipher. It will retain the volume you set for all future sat nav voice instructions.

What I've done to "turn off" the radio is a trick my dealer suggested when I asked. When connecting your phone via bluetooth, make sure to select the option for music and phone for the connection. Then when I want the radio off, I select the phone as a music source.

Seems like an over sight in the interface to not have an "off" for the radio...

Thanks, JTonline. That seems backwards to me. Nav speech should mute all speakers, but if not - it should mute the driverís side - not the passsengerís side! What were those Design Engineers thinking? Or, maybe they werenít!! ?

Actually, now you mention it, I think I may have got it wrong about muting the passenger side; I can't remember and I'm not going out in the car tonight to test But anyway, the sat nav instructions only come out the driver's side speaker and it lowers the volume of the other audio on that speaker as the instructions are given. Turn up the volume of the sat nav instructions and you're good to go!

Got it. Tried it this afternoon and it worked. Thanks again.
Does anybody know how to get music on a usb stick to play in the order listed on the album? It plays in alphabetical order....what the heck?

I just copied my iTunes library to my USB stick and it plays everything in the correct order.

Have a look at the contents of your USB stick on a PC.

You should have a folder in the root directory for each artist, and within each artist folder a subfolder for each album.
Within each album subfolder should be your list of album tracks.

Have you got the tracks saved in alphabetical order? If so, right-click a track file and click Properties, then on the Details tab check that the track number in the album is saved to the # field. Does that change the order in the Mazda infotainment system? If so, have a look on the web for meta tag editors and add the missing track number meta tag data - e.g. https://www.lifewire.com/free-tools-...mation-2438490

Very strange indeed! I am wondering; if you popped in a CD in the CD player, do the tracks line up in the proper order or do they display alphabetically? If alphabetical I would suspect a software problem. On my USB thumb drive, everything lists in the proper order as per the drive's directory that holds my entire music folder.
