Routing a cable to the armrest phone slot..

I'm lucky enough that my phone actually fits in there. With the upcoming (please please please this year) Android Auto support, and currently supported BT connectivity, it'd be nice to route a USB cable in there for charging (and eventually data).

Has anyone tried this? Have not made the attempt yet. (Car has a whopping 22 miles on it).

I'm pretty OCD so I'm looking to make it as discrete as possible.

Suggestions?

Ah! Found this. Geez. A bit more invasive than I'd hoped. Not sure if armrest makes a difference in how he did his.

Actually, our armrest is much easier than yours because the fixings are visible. Some of the US guys have taken theirs off so maybe they can advise you. Maybe Mainemanx can advise you???

Currently CX5 SportNav 2.2 diesel automatic and AWD.
Formerly CX3 SportNav 1.5 diesel automatic and AWD.
