NAV lighting

I have a gripe and did a search but didn't find it on here yet. My apologies if I missed it. We really enjoy the NAV on this car; very good and easy to use BUT when the highway tells us to turn on headlights it goes DARK. Not dim but dark, read as unusable. I tried to find a setting to fix this but had no luck, did I miss something? Out here in the West this is a frequent problem. Our stand alone Garmins automatically darken when the GPS clock dictates, I like this and can live with it.

Thanks for any help with this annoyance!

Can you turn the dial on the gauge cluster to turn the gauges and Nav screen back to "daytime"?

I have seen this and i am sure it was corrected by adjustment down the dash lights.

Thanks guys! That did the trick; took me a while to find the "knob". These eyes ain't getting any younger and I did not expect it to be on the Trip ODO stalk!

Thanks again!
