Pretty sure they installed another model's roof rack because they don't have any for purchase. This is at the dealership that I purchased my cx-3 from.

I have the rhino rack rails and bike racks on my cx3 roof and if all works great. Installed it myself and it was fairly simple. Highly suggest those! Will be getting the snowboard rack soon as well.

The Thule fixing kit (Thule 1798) for roof bars needs no cutting of the gutter inserts or additional parts from Mazda.

From opening boxes to finish took an hour to fit.

No offense, but your third photo shows exactly what i hate about aftermarket racks. That giant slab of metal that wraps down to the door. This is NOT utilizing the CX-3's built in rack mounting points.

That is because you aren't using the built in mounts.

Could you please ask them what they are using for rails, if they are stable, and does it mount to the CX-3 mounts. I've highly suspected you could use another Mazda's rails. I'd much prefer the rails and bars vs just the roof rack bar kit that is shown in the Australian and Japan accessory brochures. I was hoping for a more CX-5 like rail system, like shown in that picture.

That is an odd car to have in a Mazda showroom isn't it? Do i see aftermarket 19" wheels and a lowering kit on that?

Rhino rack rails are the only ones I could find. They have direct mounting to the roof ditch mounts without the ugly clamps near the door frame.

Do you think you could provide additional details (model number) along with some photos of your rails? At your convenience of course. I prefer a rail system vs the just the cross bars.

I can't imagine Rhino came out with a CX-3 mount that soon. I have to imagine that the CX-3 mounting is the same as some other Mazda vehicle. If that was known I could just search on rail options for those cars.

I just reviewed Rhino Rack's website and saw no rail system, just cross bar and foot systems. Is that what you were referring to?

Any of the vortex 2500 bars are direct mounted and that is what I have. The original vortex bar are mountain near the door frame which I didn't want.
Fit My Car | Rhino-Rack
All of those options fit the cx3. I have just taken photos of my setup although I'm on my phone and can't upload so I'll have to wait till tomorow.

Cool. Looking forward to seeing the pics. I will consider the Rhino's. I was really hoping there would be a rail mount available though. Rails run front to back on the vehicles and allow you to move the load bars back and forth.
