CX3 brake pads

I recently bought a second hand 16 plate CX3. I was recently told by a garage that the brake pads on the front and back will need changing soon. Will the dash warn when the pads need changing? Can’t find any info that says it will but I thought I’d ask the question.

Hi Richard, welcome to the forum. If you look at the extract from the 2015 Owners Manual below, you'll find there's an audible screech from the pad wear indicator when your pads get to the point they MUST be changed. I personally wouldn't let them get that low before having mine changed but each to their own.

What he said.

Like many cars, there's no electronic sensor. There's just a piece of spring steel attached to each brake pad. When the pad thickness is low enough, it will make contact with the rotor and make a horrendous screeching noise.
