Missing Part?

Just noticed that the underside of my 2017 CX-3 hood is bare painted metal. My wife’s 2015 CX-5 has a black plastic cover or sound deadening of some sort. Was wondering if mine is missing?

It's my understanding only the diesel CX-3s had the underhood insulation. Possibly it's been added in 2018?

I brought the JDM version back from Japan, and it probably doesn't actually do that much ... but to my ear, and as a function of the wife's suitcase space forgone, it really helps ;-)

I think it depends on the market. My car purchased in 2016 is a gas model and has insulation fitted under the hood.

The U.S. market always gets shortchanged ...

You probably get the automatic folding windows, the Napa leather, the fitted tool kit, etc.

Don't get me started on UK car prices in general The top spec (excluding 2 specials priced even dearer) of the range for a gas FWD automatic model CX-3, with all of 120bhp, works out at around $30,100. There is a gas 150bhp AWD model, manual only, for around $31,200 and a diesel 105bhp AWD automatic model for around $34,400. All these have an artificial leather and cloth seat material unless you pay a further $1,300 for half leather / half suede material. A safety pack is a further option at around $875. Mind you, our European friends in Denmark pay considerably more due to their internal tax regime I gather.

Ha ha ha....let me give you the figures:
A top-spec (called Optimum) FWD automatic 120hp is a bit under $44,000.
This has everything standard except metalicpaint, NAV sd-card and the leather/suede combo (the nappa leather should be available with the new facelift).
The AWD automatic 150hp is just under $49,000.

I got mine (FWD automatic 120hp Optimum) a bit cheaper, as it's rebuild as a van (no rearseat), and that costs around $33,000.

$20 minimum wage ... "free" health care. Hopefully Santa's gone to bed by now, but long, long ago in the mid-60s fun times in KÝbenhavn, especially in your 20s, fresh off the deserts of Khusistan (sp?) Iran ;-)

EDIT: My description of Copenhagen in the 60's might give the wrong impression ... everyone was very friendly, all the clubs I visited were family-oriented, everyone seemed to know more American folk songs than I did ... all very wholesome, beer drinking in a late 50s sort-of-way.
