Smile Infotainment system

Hi There,

New cx3 owner here, pick it up in the next couple of days. How many of you have completed the hack so you can use touch screen while driving and enter a new address too?

I like the added extras the hack provides but donít want to brick the system. Any of you had problems?

Any other things I should do as soon as I get the car?

Cheers everyone and happy holidays.

not a hack but an admin function thus no worries of "a brick"

Thanks,

My quick search has shown the admin unlock, through using code 11 etc no longer works. Is that correct?

Now you need to use the AIO tweeks to get it to work.

Thanks again.

I haven't added any hacks.
I use the command knob (I love it) as I hate using touchscreens in cars (espacially while driving - my worst experience was in a Peugeot 308 where You have to use the touchscreen to adjust the climate control) and I can already enter a new address while driving, so no need to add that hack.

Having watched every Jeremy/James/Richard Top Gear episode, I'm pretty sure you can just shorten that sentence to the section in bold...

Agree :-)
I was hopefully naive when I got the car (a rental in the UK) but that quickly went away.
Just the fact that I had to press 3-4 times on the touchscreen, while driving, to adjust the temp. drove me crazy.
The radio and nav system wasn't any better either, so I was very happy to come home to my CX-3 :-)

Be aware that the latest firmware being installed at service time or on new shipping vehicles stops the hacking process.
502+.

Read here.... http://mazda3revolution.com/forums/2...-502-read.html

I have tried a number of hacks but preffered to ssh into the system and do the changes manually.

CX3 got updated at service last week. Should have kept up on what to do prior to that to protect access but........now I need to wire a. Serial terminal into the system to access mods.

A pain but will be interesting project

Have an update on this? I bought a USB adapter for this. But I don't know how to get to the back of the unit to do this. What was your experience doing this like?
