Turning the radio off?

As far as I can see, the radio can't be turned off; it can just be muted. Am I missing something?

You'll find earlier posts discussing this same thing. I think I recall some taking the stance that it doesn't matter as selecting pause is "good enough". Having lived with it for a few months I'd much prefer to "turn it off". While in pause mode the track is still playing, so when pressing pause again it doesn't resume at the same place. Ok for radio but not for music (annoying).

You only have the right of way if the other driver gives it to you

You could always do this:
Pause on Mute ? Mazda CMU Hacks

I badly want to do that, but am terrified of screwing something up. Anyone tried it with good or bad results?
