Fuel tank capacity question

So having read the other thread re: mileage (and how other members are getting 600kms from a tank and me only getting ~400kms) I did some research.

According to Edmunds - our gas tank size is 48 liters OR 12.7 gallons

Everytime when the fuel gauge is at one tiny yellow bar, filling to max is about 36-37 L

Does that mean the last "tiny" bar + reserve accounts for roughly 10L?

Hmm.....check the owner's manual for size of the tank, I can't imagine it being different for different regions but it is 11.9 gallons or 45 liters here.

I also have an issue with the way the car estimates fuel capacity, it is clearly off by a lot. Whenever the low fuel indicator comes on and the range shows I can drive another 20 miles, it takes about 9 gallons to fill up meaning I still had almost 3 gallons in the car and enough fuel for at least 75 miles.

Every car, or motorcycle, I've owned is pessimistic when estimating "miles to go". Makes sense as you don't want someone to run out of gas before the display says you will.

On the other hand, every vehicle I've ever owned is optimistic on mpg. The CX3 is pretty close though. Usually only 1-1.5 mpg high.
