I'm certainly not an expert, but the engine and transmission seem to be quite well-engineered. Kudos to them for getting the most out of a "standard" setup rather than going the turbo/CVT route. This powertrain should prove very durable.

Yes I agree that Skyactiv engine is better than previous Mazda engines.
