Hello, recently I've noticed that the car will rattle when stopped and in gear, switching to neutral or accelerating makes it go away. I think I've tracked it down to the (heat?) shield underneath the car, just behind the two front wheels.
As seen in this image:
I am referring to the shiny plate in the center of the image.
Notice how on the bottom right corner there is a screw with no bolt on it, I believe mine is rattling by knocking on the threads because when I push the plate against the car, the rattling completely stops ( Sometimes even just lightly holding the plate ) I'm wondering if anyone has had this issue before, or if you think it could be something more serious.
Additionally, I've tried looking for the part number of that nut, but I can't find it. If anyone knows the size of the bolt that is (missing?) I'd really appreciate it.
P.S. This happened after winter driving and unfortunately scraping the bottom of the car on multiple occasions with packed snow.
P.P.S The rattling begun a few weeks back, but back then it was literally little blocks of ice bouncing up and down in the engine compartment. I can't imagine there is still any ice trapped under the car that might cause the noise.
