Fuel Question

I know this has been touched on but I would like a little more input... So what is the best for the little Skyactive 2.0 87 or 89??? I have read that you run 87 all the way and any more is a waste...I also read that it depends on the brand you fill up with. Big stations Shell Exxon WaWa ect you are good with 87 while if you get fuel at a mom and pop or a smaller station you should run 89. Is there any truth to that ?? In addition is there any difference in MPG based on 87 vs 89? on 89 I am avg around 30 at about 60/40 city Hwy driving this tank...

No there's no truth to that. If the car says use 87, then use 87 no matter where you fill up. The big chains simply add a whole bunch of additives and detergents to their fuel. There's no difference in MPG between using what your car requires, and using a higher octane fuel.
