Can you turn a CD OFF (rather than paused...)

Everytime I start my car the CD starts up. And since I don't can't get to a "pause" very quickly, it plays for a minute or two. I usually listen to audio books, and this is pretty annoying.

So, is there anyway to actually turn the CD off. Sure, I can eject it, but then I will lose my place.

What Greenman said. As far as I know, there is no "off" switch, only mute, so changing sources (yes, it is a pain in the behind) is the only way I know of. I've gotten into the habit of doing so, because I listen to something different than my two wee daughters would want to listen to. So, as I am pulling into the driveway in the evening, I change sources (from the knobs - I really do not have a problem with their location) in lieu of the touch screen (which I never touch) or the steering wheel to get ready for when I take them to school in the morning.
