Water inside the headlamp?

Anyone else have any issues with water getting inside your headlamps? On my driver side lamp, I had a fair amount of condensation built up on the inside of the lens. Showed it to my dealer last week and when I first spoke to him about it, he said their first approach to those situations is to take a hair dryer to the light and see if they can dry it up that way. I said I didn't see how that would fix the problem since if water got in there once, surely, it will get in again and that approach just delays the problem until it comes back again and if it waits until the warranty expires, then I'm hosed.

After he saw my light, he agreed that there was far too much condensation in there to tolerate and they ordered me a new one under warranty. I caught a glimpse of their paperwork and it said the part cost for the halogen lamp assembly (US Touring model) was $358 if I read it right.

Usually as long as there isn't any pooling some dealers would say its "with in normal operation" or some non-sense. $358 sounds about right as the LED ones are near $800-ish each, I think. It was really high when I asked about it at work. Side note have you or others notice some kind of weird water drip stain in the headlights? Specifically right in front of the low beam. I've noticed them on my car after I thoroughly cleaned them and it seems to be inside the lens. I check other CX3s and it seems to be hit or miss on what headlights have this weird stain. I will try to get a pic asap.

Wow! Relatively quick, responsible response by your dealer.

Mine would have first blamed it on me ... leaving it out in the rain, parking in high humidity, driving too slowly/not blowing-out the water, etc.

Anyone else has these marks? They are definitely from the inside and I've seen it on other CX3 headlights, most notably on the LED ones.

There is a TSB saying those marks are normal Snoogs.

I just checked my work account and you are right but for me it wasn't labeled as a TSB which was why I couldn't find it. It was labeled for me as "M-tips". Thanks there anchorman. Good to know I wasn't losing my marbles over this.

Yes, it's more of an advisory telling owners to ignore it so I guess that's why it comes up as a tip on your US system.

Presumably it's simply condensation?

From memory it's bit like why we get red sunsets. It's down to the angle the light shines through the plastic cover. I'll post it tonight so you can have a read ;-)
