Navigation: how to silence

I would like to silence the GPS from time to time and then have the audio direct me again, when I ask to do so. In other vehicles the command is "suspend guidance". My GPS does not respond to that command (after I activate the Audio Command on the steering wheel.) The only thing I can do so far is to say "cancel route" and then - when ready - start another route from the beginning. There MUST BE a way to suspend sound for a short period of time and then resume, when desired.

Please help me find it!
Thanks in advance.

it is possible.
As far as i recall, this is the method:

Navigation has to be started and then "open" the menu bar and scroll to the settings, far right, select and turn down the volume for navigation.
