Aftermarket Exhaust

I truly enjoy my CX-3, but...I'm counting the days when someone besides Remus releases an axleback exhaust. My hope is CorkSport will build one soon because the stock sound is just okay.

Who's with me? Have you guys heard of anything in production from other companies?

Thanks for any input.

Oh god there are gonna be CX-3's running around with giant exhausts making loud buzzing/farting noises, like the 500 Civics I see daily?

Ive gone ahead and built myself a custom exhaust for my baby. Its essentially a muffler delete, axle back. It had to be cut before the flanges for the y pipe to fit and come up in time to split, so there wont be an easy way to go back to stock. Other than that, it looks great, sounds great. The tips are Magnaflow 3.5".

Looks great! How loud is it and how much did it cost you? Any chance you'd be able to put a video?

It was about 150 dollars worth of parts, and it's not as loud as one would think. Its got a good growl to it, and decelerating from around 3-4k down it gets loud. There isnt any drone present at the usual cruising speeds. Like for awhile I had the muffler "spaced" from the rest of the exhaust, and it sounded broken if that makes sense. This here sounds proper.

Ill try posting a video, but phone mics arent the best so dont expect anything crazy quality wise. Ill get 'er done tomorrow and posted.

Great Mod!

Looking at the exhaust system pdf, I don't understand why you couldn't retain the flange ... although that would have required a "flatter Y," with more S-shaped arms.

Plus, I gather you welded hangers on each the arms.

If you could retain the flange, and make it a DIY, you could sell a bunch of 'em. Plus, you'd have the option of going back to the original.

You've your own welder, etc?

Id like to have kept the flanges in place so I could refit the muffler if ever necessary (like selling the vehicle, or emission testings, whatever), but like I said, it had to be cut before it, since there wasnt enough room for the y pipe to fit, branch out, and still have room for the tips. Even the tips were as short as i could find, only 4.5" long.

There are hangers welded on, yes. I have some more pictures of the weld points and whatnot, giving a better visual of whats happening. Im trying to get a video right now, but they arent great quality. I do have a friend who I believe has a gopro which should be much better for getting a more quality video up.
